History

May 12th 2005 - on a Thursday - Audun, Simen, Christian and Mats went to Mats' home in their study lesson to record a song. Although their musical experience was scarce, they grabbed a jaw harp, a poster tube and a guitar and recorded the German cacophonous piece "Kaugummi und Scheisserei" (translation: "Bubble Gum and Diarrhea").

Encouraged by the success with "Kaugummi und Scheisserei", another guitarist joined, more songs were written, and the quintet kept on recording them on Thursdays. The next song was called "Obst und Gemüse" (translation: "Fruit and Vegetables"), which together with "Kaugummi..." was sent to a demo competition arranged by the local paper Glåmdalen. This would lead to the spontaniously founded comedy award and a live appearance in the Summer Tent at the Aurora festival, 24th of June.

The comedy award (and Christian's fear of ruining his family name's reputation) made the group change their name. Until then, they had been calling themselves "Mr. Sandbakken Experience and the Moose-on-the-Loose Trio feat. Semen". The new name was "Mr. Badger Experience and the Moose-on-the-Loose Trio feat. Inferno-Semen". The badger had become the group's first mascot.

The songs to follow were "The Pizzaballad", "SuperMouse" (the first song with an electric drum kit), and the strange mash "Odda's hair", later renamed "Dan Børge's hair" as a honage to the famous norwegian TV host Dan Børge Akerø. These songs had all been recorded at Hieu's and Mats' place, and the group felt the need of a change in environment.

The summer of 2005 brought the band closer by taking them to a five-days trip in the Norwegian mountains. The fresh air would do them good, and afterwards they went to Simen's home and recorded "Giant Cigar", an event filmed by Martin, who later became the band's bass player.

The year ended with Simen experimenting with a yellow ukulele, and Mats with a newly aquired keyboard, which spawned two more songs. Now, there was enough of them to fill an entire album. "We've got prim - it's Waffle Time" was produced by the band members, and released for Christmas, 2005.
